I was not here today because I was completing some professional development. However, in class, the students completed a literature circles seminar and used the laptops to work on their debate prep. DON'T FORGET: Tomorrow we will have our vocabulary quiz before we get into the debates. Tomorrow, we will have the first two debates which are: For Block 3: 1. All news sources should be unbiased with no political leaning. For: Caitlyn Nagle and Laney Spencer Against: Brigitte Kelly and Sara Sharp Moderators will be: Anna Brim and Lauren Walters 2. Willing prostitution should be legal and regulated by the government. For: Anna Brim and Makenzie Cash Against: Lauren Walters and Hannah George Moderators will be: Maggie Redfield and Chris Harris For Block 4: 1. College acceptance and scholarships should be based solely on merit. For: Sam Fugaro and Kaelie Morgan Against: Dylan Minyard and Brooklyn Smith Moderators: Taylor Holst and Justine Orendain 2. The US should not open its borders to refugees. For: Trevor Johnson and Justine Orendain Against: Taylor Holst and Lily Fandel Moderators: Sarah Kreisler and Sarah Schneider The structure will be and can be divided up between the partners as you please, as long as everyone is readily involved.
